Our journey began with rescuing our first pig, revealing the need for connection among Florida sanctuaries. We built an alliance to support and unite these organizations in our mission to help animals.

Uniting Sanctuaries for Animal Care
We’re thrilled to share a feature from Sentient Media highlighting how Florida Animal Rescue Alliance (FARA) is stepping up for animal sanctuaries across Florida. Founded in 2023 by Karol Lopez, FARA was created to connect sanctuaries that were once isolated and overwhelmed many facing burnout, limited resources, and lack of support.
Since then, FARA has built a flexible volunteer network of around 85 compassionate individuals who step in for critical tasks, like cleaning enclosures, patching fences, or laying fresh bedding, whenever and wherever they’re needed.
They’ve also created vibrant communication channels via WhatsApp, where sanctuary teams can post urgent needs and receive timely assistance from other sanctuaries in the network. It’s real-time support in action!
Plus, FARA is helping sanctuaries protect themselves legally, offering guidance and tools to prevent animal dumping and ensure the welfare of the residents.
The result? Nearly 100 animals have found their forever homes thanks to FARA’s compassionate and collaborative model.
